All LIVES Matter!

It's unfortunate people think it is okay to KILL!  The life of humans, animals, fish and plants matter!  Our society takes life for granted until it happens in a malicious manner.  It has to make headlines before it makes people question the "acts" of the individual, incident and related causes.

Some people are just filled with EVIL!  Evil has never been positive.  Evil has no favorites, evil has no conscience, evil has no fear, evil has no LOVE!

Guns are EVIL!  Guns give evil people ammunition to "act" rudely in ways that only causes pain and heartache to people who know LOVE!

When will our society make a decisive decision regarding GUN CONTROL? How many LIVES must be lost? Whose LOVE ONE does it have to be in order for the gun laws to be CHANGED? Wake up, America!

Similarities Between Empire & The Haves & Have Nots

It's amazing some of the similarities in hot televison/cable series Empire and the Haves and the Have Nots.  One of the most notable is both shows have introduced the gay African American male to the world!

It was obvious the approach TP has taken to introduce the African American gay male falling in love with a Caucasian gay male. The Caucasian gay male had to be raped by a man in prison to have his first experience of two men engaging in sex.  Although it is a rude way to introduce anyone to homosexuality!  Why did the guy in prison have to be an African American heterosexual male with such a negative overtone to his character rather than a Caucasian heterosexual male with the same overtone?

The African American heterosexual man in prison, raper portrayed in the Haves and the Have Nots is the type of male society depicts of the African American heterosexual male in general.  Unless the African American male is gay, he is seen as a threat to society in many cases...while the gay African American male is seen by society as a more gentle man.  Of course, there are exceptions for the male athletes and entertainers.  Crazy, huh?

The upcoming script for the Haves and the Have Nots is swaying to the gay brother finally hooking up with the newly transformed white male son of the Governor which will send the families into a whole new tail wind!  Governor's wife will blame the Governor for her only son becoming gay because of his father trying to teach him a lesson by arranging him a few days in prison.

The character, Crazy Veronica is going to loose it when her son finally gets his dream lover, Wyatt!

Oh yeah, TP is about to shake it all up!

The African American gay male in the series Empire has a different demeanor... I look forward to dissecting the Empire series season 2 starting in just a few weeks!

Are there similarities between the two shows because both show's creators are or have experienced the gay lifestyle and/or bi-sexual life styles?  Or is it just a coincidence the creators have strong similar writing styles...similar thoughts?  Interesting, huh?

NAACP CA President Supports Cannabis Movement!

Alice Huffman President of NAACP CA

POSTED BY ALICE HUFFMAN

Our youth want and deserve a future. Let's invest in people, not prisons. It is time to end the failed war on drugs by regulating cannabis to save our communities.

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere," said the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1967 when he spoke out against the Vietnam War. At the time, he was roundly criticized by friend and foe alike for speaking out on an issue considered outside the purview of civil rights' leaders. Dr. King understood better than most at the time the true cost of war -- in lives lost, in futures squandered, in dreams deferred and in misspent resources. Eventually, a majority of Americans came to agree with him about the war in Vietnam but he did not live long enough to see the shift in public opinion. His moral courage lay in speaking out in the face of disagreement, caring more about his integrity than popularity.

As leaders of the California NAACP, it is our mission to eradicate injustice and continue the fight for civil rights and social justice wherever and whenever we can. We are therefore compelled to speak out against another war, the so called "war on drugs." To be clear, this is not a war on the drug lords and violent cartels, this is a war that disproportionately affects young men and women and the latest tool for imposing Jim Crow justice on poor African-Americans.

We reject the oft-repeated but deceptive argument that there are only two choices for addressing drugs -- heavy handed law enforcement or total permissiveness. Substance abuse and addiction are American problems that affect every socioeconomic group, and meaningful public health and safety strategies are needed to address it. However, law enforcement strategies that target poor Blacks and Latinos and cause them to bear the burden and shame of arrest, prosecution and conviction for cannabis offenses must stop.

A 2010 report released by the Drug Policy Alliance confirmed that cannabis law enforcement in California disproportionately targets our youth. Despite consistent evidence that Black youth use cannabis at lower rates than Whites, in every one of the 25 largest counties in California, Blacks are arrested for cannabis possession at higher rates than Whites, typically at double, triple, or even quadruple the rate of Whites.

We believe whatever potential harms may be associated with using cannabis are more than outweighed by the immediate harms that derive from being caught up in the criminal justice system. Once a young person is arrested and brought under the justice system, he or she is more likely to get caught in the criminal justice system again. While most cannabis possession arrests do not result in long prison sentences, they almost all generate some entanglement in the net of the criminal justice system -- acquisition of arrest records, entry into criminal databases and the permanent stigmatization that arises from such involvement. A simple cannabis possession charge and $100 ticket starts a rap sheet that can leave an individual with a permanent record as a drug offender, which can easily be searched by employers, landlords, schools, credit agencies, licensing boards and banks.

Given the current economic crisis and high level of unemployment, particularly for Black men, do we really want to permanently handicap a person's ability to get an education, make a decent living and have a productive life because they used cannabis? Equally important -- is arresting people for possessing cannabis the best use of our scarce tax dollars? At a time when counties are laying off teachers, firefighters, child and senior care providers, can we justify wasting millions attempting to reduce demand for cannabis through law enforcement? How many more years should we wait before declaring that strategy a failure? Our recent history is filled with elected officials (including our current President), business leaders and others who have admitted using cannabis and were nonetheless able to lead productive lives. How many would have been able to do so if they were subjected to current law enforcement practices?

The California NAACP does not believe maintaining the illusion we're winning the "war on drugs" is worth sacrificing another generation of our young men and women. Enough is enough. We want change we can believe in. Instead of wasting money on cannabis law enforcement, regulating cannabis will generate tax revenues we can use to improve the education and employment outcomes of our youth. Our youth want and deserve a future. Let's invest in people, not prisons. It is time to end the failed war on drugs by decriminalizing and regulating cannabis to save our communities.

Cannabis/Marijuana in the Church

With the rise of the Cannabis/Marijuana industry across the country, it remains to be known how the traditional church will approach the fast growing business and the enormous amounts of products derived from cannabis.  It is a fact that there are enough common every day products, foods, beverages, medicated creams, ointments, suppositories, sexual enhancers and many other products  made with cannabis to open a Cannabis Retail General Store.  Of course, where there is retail market, a wholesale market is prominent too!

Cannabis/Marijuana users are also church goers, so it only makes sense for the church to engage in conversations about this amazing plant.  There is enough medical information to validate the positive effects of cannabis/marijuana when used to treat over 150 ailments to the human body without causing any organ damage to any other parts of the body and brain.

Cannabis/Marijuana has transcended in a major way although it has been on earth from the BEGINNING created by the Master Creator!  Will the church transcend?  It's time...!
